NEPSE surged to 551.66 levels

Breaking its sluggish movement, the Nepse index today surged pass 550 levels to settle at 551.66 levels.

Defying its prior week’s trend of late volatility, the market today from the first hour of the trade rallied its way up and settle at day’s high.

By the end of the day, the market index made a remarkable incline of 7.97 points. Last time, the market made such a rally was in the month of July.

The investors sudden attraction in the banking and others sectors scrips mainly boost the market today. Prime Commercial Bank Limited (PCBL ), Bank of Kathmandu (BOK), Nepal SBI Bank Limited (SBI), Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBB), Standard Chartered Bank Ltd (SCB) and Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) were some of the main contributors in today’s  market rally.

The surge in the levels of the above mentioned scrips boosted the Banking and Others by 7.97 and 12.92 points respectively. Likewise, Manufacturing made a gain of 7.63 points alongside 2.53 points incline of Finance and 0.38 points leap of Development.

While, Hotels plummeted by a massive 41.78 points followed by Hydro with 3.21 points fall and Insurance with a 0.12 point decline.

All in all, 84 scrips were traded, out of which 45 scrips gained, 14 remained intact and 25 scrips lost.

The share with the highest gain in today’s session was, Nepal Insurance Co.Ltd. (NICL), closed at Rs 385, with Rs 35 or 10 percent growth .While, Soaltee Hotel Ltd. (SHL) , closed at Rs 283, was the worst performer for the day with a loss of Rs 8 or 5.23 percent.

The scrip with the highest turnover in today’s market was of Prime Commercial Bank Limited (PCBL), closed at Rs 329, with Rs 13,423,369 totaling 41,984 units which were carried out through 171 transactions.

The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the PCBL was Broker No 32 (Premier Securities Company Limited) with 12.89%; amounting Rs 3,460,698 via 35 transactions totaling 10,808 units.

Following PCBL, Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBB) also had a healthy turnover of Rs 12,931,713 totaling 33,544 units.  The news of the NBB revised financial statement stands around Rs 106 crore has once again sparked a demand for this scrip. NBB, today further inclined by Rs 14 to close at 389.

In the overall market, 472,869 unit shares were traded by 1,391 transactions worth Rs 109,704,461. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 554,836.3.
