NEPSE Recovers 1.4 points to settle at 543.35

Channeling its way up, the secondary market of Nepal today further advanced by 1.4 points.

Skeptic by the recent drop in the market, the investors took cautions in the initial hour as the market movement sided between the one point ranges.

But with the further progress of session, the market index buoyed all ups and downs, moving in all sideways directions. It was only during the end minutes, the local bourse breached the today’s channel to settle at 543.35 levels.

Banking and Insurance two of the heavy gainers of yesterday among sub-indices today parted ways from the prior motion as both suffered a loss of 0.63 and 3.94 points respectively.

As for Hydro, it continued to float in high gear as today also it added 33.59 points in its tally. Likewise, Others made a healthy surge of 5.88 points. Similarly, Hotels made recoup of 6.12 points alongside 0.56 point gain of Development and 0.44 points climb of Finance. While, Manufacturing remained intact at 864.71 levels respectively.

All in all, 96 scrips were traded, out of which 36 scrips gained, 17 remained intact and 43 scrips lost.

The share with the highest gain in today’s session was, Supreme Development Bank Ltd. (SUPRME), closed at Rs 81, with Rs 7 or 9.46 percent growth. As for the top gainer among the shares trading above par, Janaki Finance Ltd. (JFL), closed at Rs 250, topped with Rs 18 or 7.76 percent gain.

Whereas, United Insurance Co. (Nepal) Ltd. (UIC), closed at Rs 1108, was the worst performer for the day with a loss of Rs 16 or 10 percent.

The scrip with the highest turnover in today’s market was of Kailash Bikas Bank Ltd. (KBBL) which closed at Rs  179. Altogether, 265,814 units of shares were traded through 34 transactions worth Rs 60,170,823.

Altogether 570,854 units of shares were traded through 1,385 transactions worth Rs 151,822,424. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 545,640.57 million.
