Rupee continues gaining streak against USD

Nepali rupee strengthened against US dollar this week as well as the Indian currency, with which Nepali rupee is pegged, made gains against the greenback. Rupee gained a whopping Rs 3.29 against the US currency over the week. Price of gold unchanged this week.

CURRENCY

Nepali rupee gained Rs 3.29 against US dollar over the week to close at Rs 99.02 on Friday. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the central monetary authority, opened currency trading on Sunday with exchange rate of rupee against US dollar fixed at Rs 102.31.

The local currency gained 42 paisa on Monday to close at 101.89. Rupee gained Rs 1.40 a day later and closed at 100.49 on Tuesday.
According to Reuters, the Indian currency gained valued against the greenback after the US Federal Reserve´s move was seen helping Reserve Bank of India´s (RBI) policy.
The local currency gained another 20 paisa on Wednesday to settle at 101.29. Though value of rupee remained unchanged on Thursday, it gained a whopping Rs 2.27 on Friday to close the week´s trading at 99.02.

According to Reuters, the Indian currency surged 2.6 percent on Thursday, hitting its highest in nearly five weeks, as the US Federal Reserve´s decision not to dial back its easy money policy is expected to provide a reprieve to the RBI in its policy making.

Likewise, rupee gained a whopping Rs 2.60 against British Pound and Rs 1.67 against Euro. British Pound was exchanged at Rs 159.17 and Euro was valued Rs 134.27 on Friday.

BULLION

Gold price remained unchanged at Rs 47,840 per 10 grams over the week. Bullion trading opened this week with the yellow metal priced at Rs 47,840 per 10 grams on Sunday.
Though the price went down by Rs 600 per 10 grams on Monday to close at Rs 47,240 per 10 grams, it remained unchanged on Tuesday. Gold continued its bear run, losing Rs 685 per 10 grams to Rs 46,555 on Wednesday.

 It, however, went up by Rs 1,285 per 10 grams on Thursday to close at Rs 47,840 per 10 grams.
The price, however, remained unchanged on Friday.

Meanwhile, the price of silver went up by Rs 8.50 per 10 grams over the week. On Friday, silver was traded at Rs 823 per 10 grams.
