Starting from yesterday’s closing the market index persistently kept up with its bullish rally till the end of the today’s session attributing to 4.83 points surge.
With today’s progress, the local bourse came to settle at 539.05 levels which is 91 trading day’s high; last time it came across this level was in the month of March, 2013.
The news of possible increment in the Insurance companies’ capital by the regulatory body has been tirelessly pushing up the Insurance scrip price, contributing to a huge jump in Insurance sector; the sector today also gained 13.48 points.
Similarly, the news of Nepal Doorsanchhar Company Ltd (NTC) to pay Rs 48 dividend per share endorsed to growth of 15.27 points in Others sector; the scrip, NTC, today increased by Rs 13.
Likewise, Hydro also rocketed up by 25.99 points followed by Banking with a 2.67 points incline. As for Development and Finance, both advance by 0.99 and 1.29 points respectively.
While, Hotels sector was the only to suffer a loss of 4.88 points.
All in all, the scrips of 99 companies were traded, out of which 62 scrips gained, 12 remained intact and 25 scrips lost.
The best performers for the today was, Prudential Insurance Co. (PICL), closed at Rs 187, with the gain of Rs 17 or 10%.
Whereas, Himalayan Finance Limited (Bittiya Sanstha) (HFL), closed at Rs 24.50, was the top loser with Rs 1.22 or 4.74% loss. Among the shares trading above par, Nilgiri Bikas Bank Limited (NGBL), closed at Rs 129, was the worst performer with Rs 4 or 3.01% loss.
In case of the highest shares traded among mutual fund, Nabil Balance Fund 1 (NBF1), closed at Rs 10, topped with 22,084 units. In case of ordinary scrips, Nepal Credit And Com. Bank (NCCB), closed at Rs 255, topped with 62,090 units.
In terms of turnover also, NCCB topped with turnover worth Rs 15,462,040 via 116 transactions. The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the NCC was Broker No 56 (Sri Hari Securities Pvt. Ltd.) with 34.64%; amounting Rs 10,699,850 via 67 transactions totaling 42,870 units which includes 4 matching transactions tallying 400 units worth Rs 100,250.
Overall, 438,116 units of share were traded by 1,983 transactions worth Rs 152,630,278; the market capitalization by the end of the day tallied to Rs 535,949.57 million.
