Non-Resident Nepalese Association won´t invest in Kathmandu- Hetauda Tunnel Highway

Jiba Lamichhane, president of Non-Resident Nepalese Association (NRNA), Wednesday clarified that NRNA won´t invest in the proposed Kathmandu- Hetauda Tunnel Highway to be developed by Nepal Purbadhar Bikash Company Ltd (NPBCL).

The NPBCL has put the investment from Nepali diaspora as the major source of funding for the multi-billion-rupee project. "NRNs are free to invest in any project. But NRNA, as an institution, won´t invest in the project," Lamichhane said, adding, "We, however, are encouraging NRNs to invest in the project."
Lamichhane said he has already announced to invest Rs 1 million in the project.

Meanwhile, Sanima Bank, which is promoted by NRNs, has not yet decided to invest in the project. NRNs have been mainly putting their money in hydropower, education and health sectors in Nepal.
