Following the opening from prior day’s closing, the local bourse came to incline by one point in the initial hour of trade but failed to sustain in the latter hours leading to 0.49 points loss by the end of the session.
The volatility in the market today was less than that of yesterday as the secondary market traded only within one point range from previous day’s closing level.
The market index today closed at 542.35 levels.
Among, sub-indices, Hydro suffered the loss of 4.66 points followed by Banking with a 2.33 point drop and Finance with a 0.6 point decline.
Whereas, Hotels made a hefty surge of 19.67 points alongside 14.96 points rally of Insurance. Similarly, Others made gain of 2.35 points and Development increased by 0.39 points.
All in all, the scrips of 102 companies were traded, out of which 47 scrips gained, 15 remained intact and 40 scrips lost.
Last time the secondary market observed the trade of more than 100 companies was on 8th October, 2012.
The best performers for the day were, Everest Insurance Co. Ltd. (EIC), closed at Rs 220, with Rs 20 or 10% gain and Hama Merchant & Finance Ltd. (HAMA), closed at Rs 66, with Rs 6 or 10% gain.
Whereas, Shree Investment Finance Co. Ltd (SIFC), closed at Rs 275, was the top loser with Rs 25 or 8.33% loss.
In case of the highest shares traded among mutual fund, Nabil Balance Fund 1 (NBF1), closed at Rs 10.00, topped with 29,071 units. In case of ordinary scrips, Global IME Bank Limited (GBIME), closed at Rs 489, topped with 21,531 units.
In terms of turnover also, Global IME Bank Limited (GBIME) topped with turnover worth Rs 10,651,804 via 135 transactions. The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the GBIME was Broker No 42 (Sani Securities Co. Ltd.) with 13.15%; amounting Rs 2,801,458 via 36 transactions totaling 5,655 units which includes 2 matching transactions tallying 500 units worth Rs 248,200.
Overall, 344,934 units of share were traded by 1,803 transactions worth Rs 119,009,888; the market capitalization by the end of the day tallied to Rs 540,291.79 million.
