Though the market inclined by more than one point within the first few minutes, the position liquidation from the big investors drifted the market towards the 537 levels.
However, the benchmark index came to make a recovery in the last hour of trade, narrowing the loss to meager 0.88 points. The local bourse today closed at 538.52 levels.
Among, sub-indices, Insurance today made a giant leap of 21.54 points alongside 2.36 point jump of Development.
While, Hydro dropped by 4.01 points followed by Banking with 2.75 points descend and Others with 1.17 points fall. Similarly, Finance also slipped by 0.96 points.
In Finance sector, Unique Finance Ltd. proposed to give 12% cash dividend after approval from NRB and its upcoming AGM. The scrip today closed at Rs 91.
All in all, the scrips of 110 companies were traded, out of which 42 scrips gained, 12 remained intact and 56 scrips lost.
The best performers for the day was, Sahayogi Vikas Bank (SBBLJ), closed at Rs 314, with Rs 28 or 9.79% gain.
Whereas, Lumbini Bank Limited Promotor Share (LUBLPO), closed at Rs 174, was the top loser with Rs 63 or 26.58% loss. Among the shares trading above par, Nepal Insurance Co. Ltd. (NICL), closed at Rs 250, was the top loser with Rs 23 or 8.42% loss.
