Bullion prices have witnessed an increase in the local market on the onset of festivals.
According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association (NEGOSIDA), the gold price increased by Rs 1,000 per tola in the domestic market on Tuesday following the trend in the international market.
NEGOSIDA has fixed the price of hallmark gold at Rs 59,900 per tola (11.664 grams) today.
Gold price which had plummeted to Rs 48,100 on June 27, has now reached close to Rs 60,000 mark.
In the international market, the price of yellow metal has reached to USD 1,403 per troy ounce (31.1034768 grams), triggering increase in the domestic market also.
Likewise, silver price also increased by Rs 15 and reached Rs 1,049 per tola today.
The demand for gold has also increased due to upcoming Teej festival.
Taking it into consideration, the Nepal Rastra Bank is mulling to increase the gold import quota for the festive season to 20 kilogram per day.
