Continuing the prior week’s dazzling performance, the secondary market today made a leap of 5.15 points.
As the market has been gaining positive momentum from the past two weeks, the confidence among the investors towards the market is getting stronger every day.
The rise in the confidence sided by the investors' expectation of higher returns from the companies have kept the market so lively in recent days.
The local bourse today came to close at 534.22 levels.
Sector wise also, the market did great today as all sub-indices also landed on the green. Insurance continued with its marvelous bullish rally as today it made a astounding surge of 60.69 points.
Likewise, Hydro followed by a remarkable growth of 30.36 points. Similarly, Banking, Development and Finance advance by 2.82, 1.48 and 3.63 points respectively. As for Others also, it gained 2.35 points today.
All in all, the scrips of 83 companies were traded, out of which 54 scrips gained, 11 remained intact and 18 scrips lost.
The best performers for the today was, Surya Life Insurance Company Limited (SLICL), closed at Rs 198, with the gain of Rs 18 or 10%.
Whereas, Himalayan Finance Limited (Bittiya Sanstha) (HFL), closed at Rs 25.72, was the top loser with Rs 2.86 or 10.01% loss. Among the shares trading above par, Kamana Bikas Bank Limited (KMBL), closed at Rs 130, was the worst performer with Rs 2 or 1.52% loss.
In case of the highest shares traded among mutual fund, Nabil Balance Fund 1 (NBF1), closed at Rs 10.03, topped with 34,752 units. In case of ordinary scrips, Nepal Credit And Com. Bank (NCCB), closed at Rs 244, topped with 33,055 units.
In terms of turnover also, Everest Bank Ltd (EBL), closed at Rs 1739, topped with 10,025 units worth Rs 17,395,755 via 78 transactions. The broker with the highest standalone dealing of EBL was Broker No 56 (Sri Hari Securities Pvt. Ltd.) with 29.60%; amounting Rs 10,297,180 via 45 transactions totaling 5,940 units.
Overall, 378,039 units of share were traded by 1,743 transactions worth Rs 144,357,203; the market capitalization by the end of the day tallied to Rs 531,151.50 million.
