NEPSE fails to sustain its
gaining streak as it suffered a loss of 1.65 points today. Following
the consecutive two days of rally in the secondary market of Nepal, the
investors today rushed to book their profit, building high selling
pressure in the process.
Though the converge of sellers in the market was counter in the middle of the session , as the market rose above the opening level, the investors weary sentiment towards Banking and Others scrips topple the market down to the today’s closing level of 541.7 levels.
Both Banking and Others were among the top losers among sub-indices, Others came to suffer a loss of 4.7 points whereas Banking made a fall of 2.46 points. Alongside mentioned sectors, Manufacturing dropped by a massive 8.12 points and Insurance declined by 2.3 points.
While, Hotel continued its strive as it increased by 30.55 points followed by Hydro with a 3.82 points incline. Also, Development and Finance were able to make gains of 0.64 and 0.3 points respectively.
All in all, 97 scrips were traded, out of which 43 scrips gained, 15 remained intact and 39 scrips lost.
The share with the highest gain in today’s session was, Siddhartha Insurance Limited (SIL), closed at Rs 345, with Rs 31 or 9.87 percent growth. Whereas, Bottlers Nepal (Terai) Ltd. (BNT), closed at Rs 1144, was the worst performer for the day with a loss of Rs 119 or 9.42 percent.
The scrip with the highest turnover in today’s market was of Kailash Bikas Bank Ltd. (KBBL) which closed at Rs 179. Altogether, 214,713 units of shares were traded through only 59 transactions worth Rs 45,640,870.
Altogether 580,872 units of shares were traded through 1,646 transactions worth Rs 127,343,805. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 543,999.35 million.
